It's be another busy week. It's weeks like this that make me realize how lucky I am...I am so thankful for everything I have!
We went to my sister's house on Saturday for my little sweet cheeks (AKA: Kenah) birthday party. We had such a great time...it was so good to spend some time with my family! I am so thankful for my family!
The girls and I really missed Dan when we were in Ohio (he couldn't go because he was on call). We couldn't wait to get home to him and when we pulled up in the driveway the girls started screaming "DADDY, DADDY". I have the most wonderful husband in the world!! I am so thankful!!
On Tuesday, we took Lexi to Riley for a check-up regarding her kidney reflux. Towards the end of last year, she was diagnosed with Grade 3 kidney reflux. On January 4th, she had a newer type of procedure called Deflux. There was an 80% chance that this would fix the reflux. On Tuesday, we went for a follow-up VCUG and appointment with the Urologist to see if the Deflux procedure worked and THANK YOU JESUS, it did!!!!!! If it hadn't worked, she would've had to have a major surgery in which she would be in the hospital for three days. I am so thankful for Riley Hospital, Dr. Misseri, my sweet Lexi and, most of all, answered prayers!
Also on Tuesday, more prayers were answered. Dad has had a cough so his Oncologist ordered a chest x-ray. We got the call today that his chest x-ray is clear...no pneumonia or abnormalities. I am so thankful!
On Thursday, a guy came over that is an acquaintance of someone at work to look at our TV. We decided to give the TV that was in our bedroom (a 36" flat-screen TV) to a flood victim. We sent an e-mail out to everyone at church and asked them to let us know if they knew of a flood victim who would benefit from the T.V. We got a call on Thursday from this husband and wife who lost everything in the flood. They came to look at the T.V. and they were so thankful. They are picking it up this week. I don't think they have ever had a T.V. that is as nice as the one we are giving them and it feels so good to be able to give it to them. I am so thankful for the things I have and for the things I'm able to give others.
Friday was a busy day. I went to the doctor in the morning and, unfortunately, he put me in a full-leg cast because my knee is not healing correctly. I'm dreading four weeks in a cast but I know that I have to do it for my knee to heal. This is going to be a trying time for me because I'm only allowed to be on my feet 5 minutes every 2 hours and I'm going to have to rely on my family for everything. I am so thankful for my family!
Friday afternoon, Dan went up to Dr. Mitchell's to get a bedroom suite she gave us for KiKi's room. It is SO nice and we are SO thankful!! Dan re-did KiKi's room and she is so excited! I am so thankful for kind, giving people. We are so blessed!!
Today, my mom came up to help Dan around the house. It is so hard to watch everyone do everything for me (cleaning, laundry, etc.) but I am so thankful to have a family to help me! I don't know what I would do without my family. I am so blessed!!
Thank you, Jesus, for everything you have giving me and for everyone you put in my life. I am SO THANKFUL!!!!

It's been awhile...
I haven't blogged in a few weeks. It's been a busy couple of weeks.
My baby girls (Lexi and Lilli) turned six on June 21. We had a fun-filled party with our friends and family. My mom and Dan had to help get everything ready for the party because of my injury. I truly don't know what I would do without them! They have been so helpful and supportive throughout this injury. I am brought to tears when I think about how blessed I am to have them in my life!
Week of June 22:
My sister came home June 22nd so I got to spend some time with her and my beautiful nieces! We went to Mammy's for dinner on Tuesday (there's nothing better than Mammy's cookin') and went to the park with the entire family (Dan and the girls, mom and dad, Jo and her girls, and Mammy and I). What an awesome night!! We had a blast!!
On Thursday my sister and parents came up for dinner. My sister and I thought we would enjoy a quite trip to Lowes by ourselves but we couldn't sneak out of the house in time without Lexi, Lilli and Kirah following us! SO...our quiet trip turned in to a very memorable trip! We laughed a lot! We bought flowers at Lowes and my sister came home and planted them for me and then her and my mom straightened up my house. Thank you, God, for my family!!
Dan, the girls and I had a great weekend! On Saturday, Dan and I went on a date. We went to see Get Smart and to dinner. I love being with my hubby!! Then, we took the girls to the Greenwood fireworks. There's nothing more precious than being with your family and making memories! On Sunday, we went to church and had Amie and Terry over for lunch and then we went to the Whiteland fireworks that night.
Week of June 30:
Dan was on call all week and has worked a lot of hours. I don't know what I would ever do without him...I hate when he works so much!!
July 2nd- my precious little niece, Kenah, turned "1" today. I can't believe it's been a year! It's been a hard year for my sister and Brent but I admire them so much. They are wonderful parents and I am so proud of them!
July 3rd- My knee has been swollen the last 10 days or so so I went to the doctor today. I am not healing the way I should so he put me on strict restrictions. I have to be on crutches for a week and be non-weight bearing. I can only work 4-hours per day and can not lift anything at all. I go back to the doctor on 7/11 and, if it is not any better, he plans to put me in a leg-long cast. This is very difficult for me!! I don't like having to depend on other people! Please pray for me as I try to nurse myself back to health this week.
July 4th- Happy B-day America!!! I am so thankful for those who have fought for our freedom! Tomorrow, mom, Dad, the girls and I are leaving at 6:30 a.m. to go to my sisters in Marion, OH for Kenah's 1st b-day party. I really looking forward for a weekend with my family. Unfortunately, Dan can't go because he is on call. :( We will miss him but I wouldn't miss Kenah's b-day party for the world! I missed Kirah's first b-day party because they lived so far away and I've never forgiven myself for that. So...I can't wait to see my baby niece blow out her candle and fill her sweet cheeks full of cake!!!
Happy 4th of July!! God Bless America!!

Enjoying the weekend...
Four weeks ago yesterday, I dislocated my knee at Walmart when I was loading cases of coke in the car for my mom's surprise birthday party. I've been in a leg-long brace, only able to stand for 15 minutes every hour, unable to drive, and unable to work full-time since my injury. It's been kindof depressing although I know it could be worse! I don't like having to rely on others for everything (cooking, cleaning, transportation, etc.) so that has been the hardest part. Yesterday, I went to the doctor because we were worried about infection but he said it is just inflammation and he released me to drive "short distances". I feel like I'm 16-years-old again!! I feel like a new woman just gaining back some of my independence! He said it can take me three months to completely heal and I'll be in the brace and physicial therapy for probably several more weeks but I'm hoping that each day will be a little easier! It's been nice to only be in the office part-time and I'm blessed to have a job that allows me to work from home the rest of the time. I am so thankful for everything God has given me. He's given me a wonderful husband and family to help me through my injury, a wonderful church family who brought meals every night for the last two weeks, wonderful employers who are understanding and allow me to work from home when I am not in the office. Sure...this injury has slowed me down a little and it's been inconvenient but I truly believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason and I'm just thankful for the extra time I've been able to be home and spend with my family! I even got to go with my dad for his all-day infusion. It was so nice to just be there with him and to have some one-on-one time! We are both so busy so we don't get that opportunity to just sit and talk very often! Maybe this injury is a quiet blessing (the hurt REALLY bad!!)!! :)
I'm sitting on my deck right now listening to the birds chirp and my daughters make Father's Day cards for Dan and my Dad. The flood victims have been heavy on my heart. They have lost so much and yet I have so much. Sometimes, it makes you feel guity for even being upset about a silly injury! How can I even complain about anything? At least I have my family, my home and my possesions...as least I have all of my pictures and memories...at least I have my car, my yard, my deck. I have so much and I am so thankful! We drove down to Franklin Tuesday night and I cried as we drove around to see the flood damage. They have lost everything! The streets were lined with all of the possessions of the flood victims. Dan told me a story of a old lady who was sitting on the side of the street, crying, as she looked through all of her family pictures which were covered with mud. It truly is heartbreaking!
So, as I sit here, enjoying the weekend, listening to the voices and giggles of my children and listening to the birds chirp...I pray for the flood victims and those who are less fortunate. I don't think my injury is a big deal afterall! Kindof puts things in perspective!

Journaling
I've always wanted to journal my thoughts, accomplishments, concerns, failures, fears, etc. but I never found the time to do so. Being able to journal these feelings electronically has opened a whole new world for me because I'm at a computer most of my day so it should be pretty accessible. I'm excited about this! Not only will my friends and family be able to keep up with me through what I journal but i will be able to keep up with them as well. We can share our ups and downs and be there for eachother through comments. I'm excited!!
Until next time,
Amanda
